Steam Deck disassembly manual, iFixit released
Valve's Steam handheld game console "Steam Deck" is taken care of by all PC gamers.
Repairer iFixit has provided explanations for disassembling and restoring this.
First of all, from the attachment and detachment of the main body cover. If you have experience in assembling your own PC, it is an easy level of work. You can remove the cover by removing the screws and the plastic nails.

You can remove the battery by removing the three screws and lifting the shield, but this will be done later. The thumbstick can be replaced without soldering. It can be taken out as it is by removing the three screws for each. Failure of the thumbstick and drift is a common problem with any console, but this unit is designed to be very easy to replace, and it seems that replacement parts will be on sale to the general public. The red wire that is turned around the board is for a capacitive touch sensor, and Steam Deck senses that your thumb is on it.
The red cable is for the touch sensor
SSD is also replaceable. Remove one screw and remove the SSD surrounded by the shield to prevent contact with the cable, and you're done.
Silver wrap is a contact prevention shield
The trigger button is sandwiched between plastic hinges, so if you remove it, the spring will push it out.
For the button input board, remove 4 screws and 13 cables respectively. All labels are attached, so work while peeling them off. Below that is the hardware for the touchpad.
To remove the heatsink and fan, first remove the two screws and remove one side of the heat pipe. You can remove the fan by removing the sticker on the other end and turning the other two screws.
This machine has the advantage that it is not necessary to replace an expensive motherboard because the processing is distributed to the base of parts other than the motherboard. However, the USB-C port and micro SD slot are soldered directly to the motherboard, so you need to be careful when handling them.
It will return to the battery, but since this unit has poor fuel economy and needs to be charged frequently, it is expected that there will be more opportunities to replace the battery. To prevent accidents, reduce the battery level to 25% or less in advance, apply sufficient heat to soften the adhesive, and pry it open from the bottom edge of the battery. Be careful not to damage the antenna during disassembly. High-concentration isopropyl alcohol is recommended to soften the adhesive, but great care must be taken to prevent it from leaking out and damaging the display due to the holes in the lower frame.
The display can be removed by heating the outside a little and lifting it with a suction cup.
Most of the parts of Steam Deck can be removed with a single screwdriver, and the disassembly method is very simple. The SSD can be replaced and enhanced, and the design is highly conscious of repairability. I like the Steam Deck repair. The ability rating is 7 out of 10 .
