Google makes successive pixels self-repairable!

Google has announced a device self-repair program for Pixel users in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and some EU countries that allows users to purchase and repair device parts themselves . The target of the self-repair program announced by Google is the successive Pixel excluding the first generation. For Pixel devices from Pixel 2 to Pixel 6 Pro . Users will be able to personally purchase genuine parts such as displays, cameras and batteries and repair them themselves without using repair services. In addition, in partnership with the American repair company "iFixit", which is famous for the precise disassembly report of the terminal, the tools and repair guides necessary for repair will be sold as a set along with each part. The official start date for this self-repair service is not yet known, but it seems that parts and repair kits will be available for order from iFixit's official website once the service starts. In addition, since the official announcement states that "repair specialists and skilled consumers with related technical experience will be able to access the parts", this repair service does not have specialized knowledge. It is not considered to be for general users . (Image source: iFixit) The self-repair service announced by Google is almost the same as Samsung's recently announced " Self-Repair Program " and Apple's " Self Service Program " announced in November last year . Since major smartphone makers have announced self-repair services in quick succession, it is highly likely that such services will be announced by other major companies in the future. Sponsored Link It is not known if this service will be available in Japan, but it seems that it will not be easy to introduce the service in Japan due to the big barrier of technical suitability. Recently, major companies have been active in guaranteeing and expanding "user rights" such as long-term software update warranty and this self-repair program. This move will greatly improve the reliability of users, and it is expected that it will spread further in the future.
