Tesla Cybertruck to go on sale next year.
Very early: Elon Musk has confirmed that the Tesla Cybertruck will go on sale next year. The electric pickup was unveiled in 2019 with an expected 2021 release date. That’s been pushed back to 2022, and now it’s been confirmed that the EV will finally arrive in 2023.
Musk made the announcement at the launch party for Tesla’s Gigafactory in Texas. A production version of the Cybertruck was on stage during the event, showing off a slight change from the original design: the truck will no longer come with door handles; instead, the sensors will detect when an owner is nearby and automatically open.
tesla opening of the Cybertruck almost three years ago did not go quite well. An employee threw a metal ball at the “shatterproof” glass windows on the driver’s side, which shattered. musk after said this was due to an earlier test that involved hitting the truck doors with a sledgehammer. That demonstrated the durability of the Cybertruck’s bodywork, but also apparently broke the glass panels housed within the base of the doors.
Tesla in 2021 Announced that the Cybertruck would not arrive that year, but would ship in 2022. Musk then told employees that production would not begin until late this yearand a report in January claimed that the EV arrive 2023which Musk has now confirmed.
Separately, Musk said that a broad beta of Tesla’s full self-driving technology should launch in the US later this year, with the Tesla Semi EV also launching in 2023. The CEO added that the Next year the production of the Optimus robot will begin. , which previously called Tesla’s most important product in development, potentially bigger than its vehicle business.
