Dog takes care of homeless kitten found alone on farm

An abandoned cat finds a loving new home thanks to a wonderful family and dog. The little girl wandered alone on the farm, exposing herself to the dangers that a cat her age could take.

Morgan, the farm’s owner and mother of five animals, had no intention of adopting a new cat, but destiny brought her into her house. The meows were coming from outside Mrs. Morgan’s property, but it was nearly difficult to locate the cat.

“We tried to call her, but we couldn’t find her in the thick layer of trees behind our farm. We took one of our big cats to where she was crying, and he smelled her right away. She was on a little tree stump,” Morgan said.

After finding her, they made the decision to leave her there, because they believed her mother could return and take her home. After watching the little girl for a while, they realized it was too dangerous to leave her in the open and decided to step in.

“When it got dark we got nervous for her because we live on a farm where foxes come a lot. So I went out and brought her inside. She couldn’t see anything and she was covered in fleas,” Morgan added.

They gave her a much-needed wash after bringing her home, removed all the fleas from her fur, and gave her the name Polly.

When Paxton, Morgan’s 12-year-old dog, heard the kitten wailing, he hurried over to see how she was doing. From that point on, Polly was taken care of by the kind dog, who seemed to want to adopt her and care for this little girl.

The kitten felt attracted to the furry, felt safe, snuggled up next to Paxton, stopped crying and fell asleep peacefully. Polly never wanted to experience loneliness again, and from now on Paxton would never leave her side.

Morgan took it upon herself to bottle-feed her for several weeks, until she was ready to be weaned. When it was time to eat, Paxton waited patiently while he watched his kitten eat, when Polly finished, the dog began the cleaning tasks.

Morgan said:

“Before she could take a bath, Paxton would clean up all the milk from her. He has taught her many things about dogs, including the barking noise that he makes.”

Now Polly follows her friend everywhere, they have become inseparable, it is as if she has become his little shadow.
